Iran Press/ Iran News: The Iranian Embassy to Denmark stated that extremists with seditious goals and motives implement the insult to the Holy Quran.
The continuation of insults and failure to deter and prosecute the insulters can lead to hatred and violence between people, religions, and cultures, according to the statement issued by the Iranian embassy in Denmark.
Iran's embassy stressed that freedom of speech is a fundamental principle of human rights and should not be used as a pretext to insult religions, holy books, beliefs, and national values of nations.
Recently, the members of a far-right ultra-nationalist Danish group, known as their ati-Islamic stance, called Danish Patriots, in a heinous act, burned a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the Iraqi embassy and again in front of the Egyptian and Turkish embassies in Copenhagen.
Following the despicable incident, the Danish ambassador in Tehran received a summons to attend Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), where he was informed of the Islamic Republic of Iran's protest against the Danish government.
Iraqi-Swedish citizen Salwan Momika insulted the Holy Quran on Thursday, July 20, for the second time in the last few weeks with the support of the Swedish police, and the violent action brought the reaction of Muslim countries.
