Iran Press/ Iran News: The main phase of the Zulfiqar-99 Army Joint Drill began this morning (Thursday) with the code "Ya Seyyed al-Shohada (AS)" and the slogan "Sustainable security in the shadow of defense authority" in southern Iran.
The Spokesman for the Zulfiqar-99 Army Joint Drill Second Rear Admiral Shahram Irani stated: "Iranian Air Force and Navy flight units, including P3F, F-27 aircraft, and reconnaissance drones, also conduct continuous naval patrols and monitor the general area of the exercise in local waters, and have issued the necessary warnings to the trans-regional units to leave the area."
"Since yesterday, with the announcement of the start of the exercise and at the same time with the warning of the air defense base to foreign aircraft near the training site, US unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) have changed their behavior significantly," he added.
Referring to the different and concentrated activities of US drones to collect information from the exercise area, Irani noted: "These activities were discovered by the Iranian army signal recognition systems and the drones were forced to leave the region after identifying the level of readiness of surveillance, reconnaissance, and defense systems of the Iranian army.
Units of the Navy, Air Force, Defense Forces, and Ground Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army will participate in an area of two million square kilometers in the eastern waters of the Strait of Hormuz, Makran coast, Oman Sea, and North Ocean India up to 10 degrees north.
The Zulfiqar-99 exercise will be conducted in three stages, intelligence, tactics, and show of power and Ships, submarine, jet fighters, and helicopters, as well as part of the equipment and weapons available in the Army Combat Organization, are present in this exercise.
The most important point of the Zulfiqar-99 joint drills is the powerful presence of the Fateh home-made submarine.
