Iran Press/ Iran news: During the conversation, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian condemned the recent desecration of the al-Aqsa Mosque by the Zionists and called for coordinated and joint action by Muslim countries in order to preserve the historical and legal status of the mosque.
He also underscored the need to put a legal mechanism in place to stop insults to Islamic sanctities.
Amir-Abdollahian further stressed the necessity of strengthening regional cooperation in order to restore peace and stability.
Iran's top diplomat welcomed the upcoming meeting of the Regional Organization For the Protection of the Marine Environment, ROPME, in Kuwait.
For his part, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Al Sabah underlined his country’s constant policy on the issue of Palestine and strongly condemned the Zionist regime’s recent desecration of the al-Aqsa Mosque.
Al Sabah also welcomed Iran’s proposal and initiative that the OIC take action in concert to stop the sacrilegious acts of the Israeli regime that disrupt regional peace and stability.
He then pointed to the dark record of the French magazine Charlie Hebdo in insulting the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and deplored its recent insulting cartoons.
Al Sabah said insulting religious authorities and leaders is an affront to all Muslims.
The two top diplomats then underlined the need for Iran and Kuwait to bolster their relations and welcomed the upcoming meeting of their joint high cooperation council.
