Iran, Ukraine mulling ​​improving level of trade

Tehran (IP) - The Islamic Republic of Iran pursues a policy of developing trade and economic cooperation with neighbouring and regional countries, and in this regard, Ukraine is also on the agenda of improving the level of trade.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian and Ukrainian private sector activists reviewed ways to develop bilateral relations in a webinar organized in cooperation with the Tehran Chamber of Commerce and the Kharkiv Chamber of Commerce this week.

The webinar emphasized the development of economic and trade cooperation between Tehran and Kharkiv provinces of Ukraine with the joint cooperation of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture and the Kharkiv Chamber of Commerce and Industries.

According to the published statistics of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, the amount of trade between the two countries is now less than one billion dollars a year, and the primary goal is to increase this figure fivefold.

The Deputy Minister of International Affairs of the Tehran Chamber considers the close relations between Iran and Ukraine over the past decades as a platform for the development of economic relations between the two sides, and now there are suitable conditions in this regard.

"The economic actors of the private sector of the two countries can use each other's joint capacities to improve the current trade relations," Hesamuddin Hallaj noted.
