Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said Iranian firms will cooperate in the reconstruction of Syria's water and sewage network and its hydropower projects with the termination of war against terrorism in the Arab country.

Iran Press/Iran news: Talking to reporters following a meeting with Syria's Water Resources Minister, Hussein Arnous on Wednesday, he said the two countries are going to sign an MoU on Thursday which will determine their bilateral cooperation.

Iranian companies will take part in the dam, power plant, and refinery projects as well as in the production of equipment and training of the manpower in Syria's hydropower sector, he said.

Ardakanian added that a joint committee at the level of deputy ministers will be delegated to work out the mechanisms and follow up implementation of the projects in Syria.

Iran helped the legitimate government in Syria to defeat the terrorist group Daesh.

Our companies will be awarded a special priority in the post-war Syria's reconstruction projects, the Iranian minister said.

The Syrian minister of water resources who is in Tehran to take part in the Regional Center of Urban Water conference said Tehran and Damascus have strategic relations.

He welcomed using Iranian potentials and expertise for the reconstruction of the water projects in Syria.
