Iran Press/ Iran News: During a meeting held on Sunday to sign the Memorandum of Understanding on Islamic Human Rights, Kazem Gharibabadi said Islamic Human Rights is an important issue ignored in different international areas.
The MoU was signed on Sunday between the World Assembly of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), the Human Rights Headquarters, the Mustafa International Society, the Organization of Islamic Culture and Communication, and the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
Gharibabadi said: "Although human rights have been enshrined in international documents since the 20th century, the reality is that human rights are not a Western commodity but are rooted in the divine religions, especially Islam."
He recalled that human rights and the defense of the rights of Muslims and the oppressed of the world were ignored, criticizing the adoption of double standards to human rights by those who advocated it.
