Tehran (IP) - Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman condemned the terrorist attack on a school in Uganda and expressed sympathy with the government and nation of western Uganda.

Iran PressIran news: Forces linked to ISIL killed 40 people and abducted some others in an attack on a school in western Uganda near the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo, police said on Saturday.

According to Ugandan police, members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a Ugandan group, attacked a High School in Liberia and set fire to the dormitory, and looted food.

Referring to the horrible terrorist attack that happened in Uganda, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Iran Nasser Kanaani called it a cause for concern and further added that such barbaric attacks once again showed the existence of terrorism and extremism pervasive dangers to the global community.

Iran's spokesman for Foreign Affairs, elsewhere, called for global cooperation and effective international actions as the ways to counter such barbaric actions. 

"Peace and stability will be settled in the world if terrorism and extremism are countered seriously," stated an Iranian spokesman, expressing hope for a peace settlement in the world and Africa.
