Iran Press/ Asia: In a tweet on Friday, Abbas Mousavi wrote: "Iran supports the initiative to create a mechanism for strengthening peace, stability, and development in the region."
"South Caucasian countries (Republic of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia), as well as the three major neighbors (Iran, Turkey, and Russia), can cooperate for the benefit of the region," Mousavi added.
During a visit to Baku, Yerevan, Tbilisi, Moscow, and Ankara last year, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif proposed a '3 + 3 regional mechanism', which was welcomed by the Caucasian countries, Russia, and Turkey.
