Iran Press/Iran news: Referring to the flood threats in the province of Khuzestan, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran (SNSC) Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani said the management of the input and output of dams is very important, and should be handled with care and diligence, Iran press reported.
"The situation of the Karoun River in Ahwaz and the downstream areas of the river is a major threat to the province, which can be a challenge," said Shamkhani, on Wednesday at a meeting of the Coordination Council for Crisis Management of Khuzestan. The meeting took place in the city of Ahvaz.

The SNSC emphasized that regarding the current ease in rainfalls and considering that the next incoming low-pressure system to the province from Saturday, so its a duty of officials to make best use of available time -- from Wednesday to Friday -- to manage the crisis and take the necessary steps.
The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council explained the advantages of Khuzestan province compared to other provinces: the existence of numerous rivers, numerous canals, and rivers, rivers adjacent to the open sea, Hvar al-Azim wetland, dam, and drainage are among these advantages. Which enhances the ability of provincial managers to manage the crisis.
Pointing to the advantages of Khuzestan province compared to other provinces, Rear Admiral Shamkhani explained that the existence of numerous rivers, numerous canals, and rivers, rivers adjacent to the open sea, as well as Hoor Al-Azim wetland, dam and drainage enable us to manage the crisis.
Ali Shamkhani travelled to Khuzestan on behalf of the president last night (Wednesday) to monitor the flow of services and flood management in the province.
