Tehran (IP) - The Secretary-General of Iran's High Council for Human Rights, while protesting against the violent physical treatment of police of an Iranian citizen, called on the relevant Danish authorities to refrain from imposing double standards on migrants.

Iran PressIran News: "Kazem Gharibabadi", Deputy Chief of Judiciary for International Affairs and Secretary-General of the High Council for Human Rights wrote a protest letter to the Danish Minister of Immigration, Mattias Tesfaye, regarding the violent and inhumane treatment of the police with an Iranian asylum seeker.

Danish authorities deported the Iranian woman as an asylum seeker and her two children, separating her from her one-year-old son, who remained in Denmark with her father.

Gharibabadi described the violence and inhumane treatment as a violation of Denmark's obligations under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the prohibition of violence against women, and the violation of Article 5 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 7 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

In another part of the letter, it is stated: "Released videos and pictures show 4 people holding this Iranian citizen violently on the ground and pushing her on the pavement. A person in plain clothes also brings handcuffs and ties from inside the car to keep the woman from moving. Some reports indicate that the mistreatment took place in front of the eyes of the young children of this woman."

The Secretary-General of the High Council for Human Rights, while announcing his protest regarding the violent physical treatment of Danish citizens by this Iranian citizen, called on the Minister of Immigration and other relevant Danish officials to halt such inhumane acts and to refrain from imposing double standards on nationals of other countries and take measures to compensate the material and moral damages to this victim of violence, and prevent her forced expulsion.
