Iran Press/Middle East: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif offered his condolences over the death of late Sultan Qaboos, congratulated sultan Haitham bin Tariq for his new role and expressed the Islamic Republic's readiness to develop and deepen the friendly and long-standing relations between the two countries.
Late Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said Al Said passed away late Friday 10 January, aged 79.
Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, 65, Minister of Heritage and Culture in the Sultanate of Oman and a member of the Al Said Omani royal family has been declared as the country's new Sultan.
