Iran Press/ Asia: 44 years ago, on the 12th of Bahman 1357 in Persian Calender (February 1, 1979), Imam Khomeini (RA), the great founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, after fifteen years of exile and distance from his homeland, stepped into the soil of Islamic Iran amid the enthusiastic welcome of the people.
Ten days after his arrival in Iran, on the 22nd of Bahman 1357 (February 11, 1979), the glorious Islamic Revolution of Iran won.
At the event, Afghan girls performed a beautiful song, and "Shir Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai", the political deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, praised the beautiful performance.
Congratulating the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the President, and the people of Iran, the Political Deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan said that we want to develop relations in various fields with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Shir Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai stated that relations between Iran and Afghanistan should be increased and developed in economic, commercial, cultural, and diplomatic fields. Stanekzai considered Chabahar to be an opportunity for the development of commercial and economic cooperation. He also praised Iran's hosting of millions of Afghan immigrants and demanded more facilities for the immigrants until they return to Afghanistan.
Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the ambassador and head of Iran's political representation in Kabul, emphasized strengthening relations with Afghanistan and said that Iran's relations with Afghanistan are beyond geographical borders because the two countries in addition to being neighbors have many religious, cultural, and economic commonalities.
