Lebanon (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister met with the Secretary General of Lebanon's Hezbollah, discussing the recent developments in Lebanon, Palestine, and the Iranian-Saudi restoration of ties.

Iran PressMiddle East: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian who is in Beirut on the invitation of his counterpart Abdollah Buhabib, met with Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah on Friday.

Amir-Abdollahia also attended the border area of 'Maroun al-Ras', in the neighborhood of Palestine, and planted an olive tree.

There, in a press conference, he said that the Islamic Republic of Iran would support Palestine's resistance against the Israeli regime. 

The Iranian FM said that Lebanon and Palestine are in their strongest position and that the Israeli regime has reached its worst position and is coping with multifold political, social, and security crises.

"Lebanon's resistance proved that the Israelis only understand the language of power and that resistance is the most important choice to which security, prosperity, and preservation of territorial integrity subjects," he stressed. To settle the crisis in Palestine, he said: "A political solution is required and that is to hold a referendum among all Palestinians, including Christians, Jews, and Muslims." 

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Beirut on Wednesday evening, meeting with the Lebanese officials including his counterpart Abdullah Buhabib, PM Najib Mikati, and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
