Tehran (IP)- Iran's Foreign Minister and his Tajik counterpart held talks over bilateral ties and issues of mutual interest.

 

Iran PressIran news: During the telephone conversation with Sirojiddin Muhriddinon on Tuesday afternoon, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian extended greetings from Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to the Tajik president.

He also spoke about friendly and close ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the government of Tajikistan.

Amir-Abdollahian said now a new chapter has begun in bilateral cooperation pertaining to ties between Iran and Tajikistan and this growing trend must continue.

Iran's top diplomat described the visit of the Iranian president to Dushanbe and that of the Tajik president to Tehran as two important turning points in relations between the two countries.

Amir-Abdollahian noted that since the 13th Iranian government took office, a significant number of joint cooperation agreements have been signed that need to be implemented as a result of follow-up by the two governments.

For his part, the Tajik foreign minister expressed pleasure with the friendly relations between his country and Iran.

Sirojiddin Muhriddin stressed the need to expand close and high-level bilateral ties between the two friendly and brotherly countries of Iran and Tajikistan.

Muhriddin gave the Tajik president’s greetings to President Raisi and renewed an invitation to the Iranian president to visit Tajikistan.
