Tehran (IP) - Iran exported $2.348 billion of goods to Iraq in the first quarter of the current Persian year, said the Director General of the West Asia Department at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).

Iran PressIran News: Farzad Piltan said that the export of Iranian goods to Iraq has seen a 24% growth this year, with a total worth of $2.348 two billion in comparison to the same period last year, saw a total worth of about $1.9 billion. 

Natural gas, rebar, tomatoes, iron ingots, livestock and poultry feed, polyethylene, clinker, milk powder, and plastic materials have the highest share in the exports to Iraq during the first quarter of the current Persian year. 

According to the Iranian Customs statistics, Iran exported a significant amount of goods to Iraq in the first quarter of the current Persian year, making it the second top destination for Iran's exports.

Based on the report, Iran exported over 35 million tons of non-oil goods valued at more than $12 billion in the first quarter of this year; however, these goods decreased by around 8% compared to the previous year.

During the first quarter of the current year, approximately 18.8% of Iran's total non-oil exports went to Iraq.
