Iran's envoy urges boosting cooperation between Iran, Iraq universities

Baghdad (IP) - In a meeting with the Iraqi minister of higher education and scientific research, Iran's ambassador stressed developing cooperation between the two countries' universities.

Iran PressMiddle East: Iraj Masjedi, Iran's Cultural Attaché to Baghdad, Gholamreza Abazari, and representatives of Islamic Azad Universities, Medical Sciences University, and Al-Mustafa International University met with the Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Nabil Kazem Abdel-Sahib.

During the meeting, various scientific and academic issues such as establishing branches of the Azad University and Iran's Medical Sciences in Iraq and increasing the number of Iranian universities approved by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education were discussed.

The Iranian ambassador described Iran-Iraq's development of cultural and educational relations as desirable and called for more serious efforts on the Iraqi side to complete cultural, scientific, and academic projects between the two countries.

The Iraqi minister also welcomed the plans to increase cooperation.
