Iran Press/Europe: The Iranian ambassador to the Vienna-based international organizations and International Atomic Energy Agency in response to the allegations made by the IAEA head's report on verification and monitoring in Iran, sharply criticized the IAEA Director-General over these statements made by him on Safeguards Agreement.
In this regard raised, Kazem Gharib Abadi, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Iran to International organizations at the beginning of his speech challenged the issuance of a second report alongside the main report on Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action by the IAEA's head raising questions addressing the IAEA's head to dismiss the allegations against Iran:
First, what was the need and justification for a separate written report on such allegations, especially when Iran is cooperating with the Agency on this issue?
Second, does the International Atomic Energy Agency treat all similar cases in the same way?
Third, Why has the IAEA released a separate independent report on safeguards and in this way even added a new item on the agenda of the current Board of Governors' meeting, while this issue is simultaneously considered both within the framework of the Additional Protocol and the IAEA report on JCPOA, also why some of its positive clauses regarding access to nuclear sites are removed?
At the recent meeting of the IAEA board of governors, Iran's ambassador stated that the root of the current situation is the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the agreement and the threat of countries punishing corporations and banks that have sought cooperation with Iran. They should learn the necessary lessons and, based on past experience, compensate for damages and provide the basis for keeping the agreement.
"To this end, restoring the lost balance between the rights and responsibilities of all JCPOA parties is an urgent need," he said.
Iran has stated its readiness to return all remedy steps taken in accordance with articles 26 and 36 of this agreement, Gharib Abadi added, noting the realization of this matter needs the practical mobilization of all capacities on the part of the remaining members to the JCPOA.
