Iran Press/ Asia: Iran's embassy in Kabul expressed its condolences to the survivors of the terrorist attack and said that the assassination and removal of clerics with the aim of promoting violence and extremism is undoubtedly a project that will have dangerous social and cultural consequences for Afghanistan and the region.
A deadly blast on the 'Shir Shah Souri' Mosque of Kabul during the Friday prayers killed Azizullah Mofleh, the Imam of the Mosque, and three others.
"All the people of Afghanistan and the region must be aware of the future of this process," the Iranian Embassy statement added.
No groups or individuals have yet claimed the responsibility of the Kabul attack.
Four people were killed after a blast ripped through a crowd during Friday prayers at the mosque in Kabul in the latest attack in the city ahead of potential talks with militants.
“Based on our initial information, at around noon explosives placed inside the mosque were detonated during Friday prayers,” interior ministry spokesman Tariq Arian said in a message to journalists.
This comes as 10 days ago, in a separate improvised explosive device (IED) explosion, Mawlawi Ayaz Niazi, another prominent religious cleric was killed, the ISIS claimed the responsibility.
