Brasilia(IP) - Iran's political deputy minister of foreign affairs said that the cooperation between Iran and Brazil in the international arena will play an important role in strengthening the mechanisms of multilateralism and protecting the interests of independent countries.

Iran PressAmerica: According to the General Department of Information and Spokesperson Affairs of the Ministry of Iran's Foreign Affairs, "Ali Bagheri Kani", Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, met with "Carlos Durate, Brazil's Secretary for Africa and the Middle East on the sidelines of the 12th round of political consultations between the two countries in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil.

Pointing to the causes of the decline of unilateralism, including extravagance and seeking superiority, he emphasized:

"The participation of each actor based on their capacities in international political and economic mechanisms is the main factor for the stability of the order based on multilateralism."

The Political Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran also pointed to the will of Iran and Brazil to hold a new round of the joint economic commission between the two countries in the next few months and stated:

"Complementary economic capacities promise sustainable and stable economic cooperation between Iran and Brazil."

In the twelfth round of political consultations between Iran and Brazil, in which three of Brazil's deputy foreign ministers were present along with a number of other directors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country, the parties consulted and exchanged views on bilateral relations and various international issues.

During these talks, the parties discussed a range of bilateral issues, including the facilitation of economic and trade relations and the need to diversify them, the promotion of cultural and scientific relations, cooperation in the field of environmental issues, and the expansion of tourism between the two countries, as well as increasing parliamentary interactions.

Emphasis on multilateralism and peaceful ways to resolve current conflicts, rejection of unilateral sanctions, and the role of multilateral organizations such as BRICS in creating a stable and development-oriented order, were among other issues discussed by the deputy foreign ministers of Iran and Brazil

Ali Bagheri Kani, the Political Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, has traveled to this Brazil for political talks and a separate meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Chairman of the Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group and some other representatives of the Brazilian Congress.
