Iran Press/Iran news: "Bavar 373 Air Defense System was designed and built to meet the country's need for high-range defense," said Gen. Shahrokh Shahram in an IRIB news talk on Thursday night.
"This super-system, includes some subsystems which is mobile and more capable of tracking, detecting,combat and lethal power than the S-300 air defense system," said the deputy defense minister, Iran Press reported.
Noting that the 373 missile system is superior to the US Patriot missile system, he added Bavar 373 with more than 10,000 elements, each of which is radar is excellent for confronting ballistic missiles.
Bavar-373 is a mobile missile defense system designed to intercept and destroy incoming hostile targets flying at altitudes of up to 65 kilometers. The system employs missiles that have a maximum range of 300 kilometers.
Bavar-373 unveiled on Wednesday in the attendance of president Hassan Rouhani.
