Iran Press/ Middle East: Reza Ardakanian arrived in the capital Baghdad this morning (Tuesday) at the head of a delegation to meet and hold talks with high-ranking Iraqi officials.
The Minister of Energy, the Iranian side of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation between Iran and Iraq, is going to hold talks with the Iraqi officials on the preparations for the meeting of the commission, which will be hosted by Iran this month.
Also during the visit, the Iranian Minister of Energy and his economic delegation will discuss with Iraqi officials the capacities and ways to develop economic and trade cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad.
The Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Shariatmadari, in a virtual meeting with the Iraqi Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Adel Al-Rikabi, on Saturday referred to the fact that a roadmap for joint Iranian-Iraqi cooperation had been prepared for a five-year term expressing hope that the relations between the two countries should be further expanded more than ever before.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi Minister of Labor and Social Affairs also described the relations between Iraq and Iran as deep-rooted and historical and said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported Iraq in all fields, including the fight against terrorism."
'Adel Al-Rikabi' added: "Given that Iraq has struggled with many problems, including numerous wars, it is necessary to strengthen the areas of cooperation with neighbors, including Iran's friendly and brotherly country."
