Iran Press- Iran news/ In response to an article published in New York Times entitled ‘Companies With Permission to Bypass Sanctions’, the Iranian ambassador to the United Kingdom Hamid Baeidinejad has tweeted: “It is not companies that must choose between the US and Iran,” adding “It is that the US abandons the JCPOA and violates international law.”
Baeidinejad further advised the US administration to return to the JCPOA, from which it withdrew in May, in order to stop losing more credibility, stressing “return to the accord and uphold an international agreement, which itself has signed.”
U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew Washington from the nuclear agreement in May and reintroduced sanctions on Iran in August. The second wave of sanctions, which targets Iran’s oil exports and central bank, is due to start in early November.

On September 25, European Union foreign policy chief Fredrica Mogherini announced that the bloc was creating a new payment mechanism to allow countries to transact with Iran while avoiding U.S. sanctions.

Mogherini’s announcement came after a meeting with foreign ministers from Britain, France, Germany, Russia, China, and Iran on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
