Iran Press/ Iran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Sunday, Ezatullah Zarghami said that one of the tasks which was of great importance to be addressed was the resumption of tourist visa services, which was banned due to the spread of the coronavirus and the risk of transmission by the foreign tourists.
Zarghami told IP correspondent on the sidelines of his press conference at Iran’s National Museum: "We have taken steps to vaccinate all tourism agents. That is to say, we have vaccinated the staff at accommodation centers, hotels, travel agencies and the people involved at the same time to resume the issuance of visas."
Ezatullah Zarghami pointed to the tourism plans in the post-COVID era and said: "Some tourists are interested in historical monuments and others in ecotourism, and it is necessary for investments, especially in ecotourism, to turn to the priorities of this ministry."
Health tourism was another topic which was mentioned by the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Cultural Heritage, about which the disputes with the Ministry of Health were settled and led to more powerful health tourism, with the neighboring countries on priority.
Mohammad Reza Tarjoman, Head of the Health Tourism Department of the Ministry of Health, says 80% of medical tourism visits to Iran are from neighboring countries, especially Afghanistan and Iraq, and 200 medical centers are licensed to accept the patients.
