Doha (IP)- The head of the Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Cooperation Commission announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding to sync Iran's grid network to Qatar.

Iran PressIran news: According to Iran Press, Ali Akbar Mehrabian, Minister of Energy of Iran and Chairman of the Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Cooperation Commission, referring to the state visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Raisi to Qatar, said:

" Memoranda of Understandings will be signed between the two countries in the field of electricity syncing f Iran's grid network to Qatar, trade in goods, investment, development of relations in the field of free and trade zones, cultural fields and tourism.

According to Mehrabian, this trip is significant and can effectively develop relations between Iran and Qatar.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi, traveled to Qatar on Monday at the official invitation of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to pay an official visit and attend the sixth OPEC Gas Summit.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran met with the Emir of Qatar at the Amiri Diwan (The Amiri Diwan of the State of Qatar is the sovereign body and the administrative office of the Amir.) of the State of Qatar after an official welcoming ceremony.

The talks of the high delegations of the two countries and the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding are among the plans of the first day of the visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Qatar.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran will also be among the Iranians living in Qatar and meet with Qatari and Iranian business people.

On the second day of his visit to Doha, Raisi will address the sixth summit of the Assembly of Gas Exporting Countries Forums.

The summit will be attended by the leaders and senior officials of the gas exporting countries. A number of them will meet with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the sidelines of the event.
