Abu Dhabi (IP) - Iran's Minister of Transportation, met with some senior officials on the sidelines of the 17th annual exhibition and conference of 'the Middle East Rail' in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Iran PressIran news: Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mehrdad Bazrpash, is attending the 17th annual exhibition and conference of 'the Middle East Rail' in Abu Dhabi to expand transport and commercial ties with the UAE and regional countries.  

Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mehrdad Bazrpash, met with Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of the Presidential Court, and also the Vice-President of the UAE on the sidelines of the 17th annual exhibition and conference of 'the Middle East Rail' in Abu Dhabi. 

In the meeting, the two sides emphasized on development of relations in different transport sectors.  

Bazrpash pointed out that Iran is seeking to expand its ties with the UAE and welcomes investments in different transport projects. 

He further suggested resuming the meetings of 'Iran, UAE Joint Economic Commission' after a hiatus.

Al Nahyan also welcomed the Iranian minister and delegation to the UAE and pointed to the strategic location of Iran particularly along the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC). 

Moreover, Iran and Qatar's Ministers of Transport met during the event.  

In their meeting, pointing to the previous agreements, the two sides emphasized solving current problems for the expansion of ties. 

Increasing transport ties, particularly in port and maritime were discussed by two ministers. 

Bazrpash as the head of 'Iran, UAE Joint Economic Commission' has traveled to the UAE at the invitation of the UAE's Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei for attending the 17th annual exhibition and conference of 'the Middle East Rail'. 

The visit marks a new beginning for commercial transactions between Iran and UAE following the resumption of political relations between Iran and the Persian Gulf countries.
