Cape Town (IP) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran said that the country is undoubtedly an actor and the main power in regional developments, and at the global level, and that it is also considered one of the main actors in this arena.

Iran PressAfrica: In an interview on Thursday, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian explained the most important actions and achievements of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stating that in the new world order, wherever an issue or phenomenon is discussed, the Islamic Republic of Iran is not absent. 

Amir-Abdollahian also added: "Among the developments is the emergence of new economic powers in Asia, and Iran itself is considered an important country in this continent; the Islamic Republic of Iran has pursued its membership in regional alliances such as Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), BRICS, and the Eurasian Union, and Iran's membership will be finalized in SCO next month."

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran also stated that since last year, the volume of commercial exchanges between Iran and Oman have increased significantly and emphasized the main goal of Ian-Oman bilateral relations, adding: "The subjects related to the nuclear issue are always one of the subjects that the Omani authorities pay attention to, and the new Sultan of Oman has good intentions and recommendations regarding Iran's nuclear issue."

Amir- Abdollahian announced Iran-Egypt relations as another focus of the Sultan of Oman's recent visit to Iran and noted: "Iran, with the view that there is no bilateral problem between Tehran and Cairo, and the position of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in the developments of recent years in the region, especially in the fight against ISIS and the Syrian case, was logical and correct, welcomed this issue, and if an initiative for If there is a development of relations between Tehran and Cairo, the Islamic Republic welcomes that initiative in line with the interests of both sides."

Elsewhere, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, referring to the tension between Iran and Afghanistan in recent weeks, considered Iran's view on the issue of borders as a strategic view, and emphasized that the country (Iran) would not allow the enemy to take advantage of Afghanistan issue.

He said: "They clearly stated that these clashes were not carried out with any purposeful plan."

About Iran's claim over the Hirmand River, Amir-Abdollahian said: "Iran's claim over the Hirmand River is being pursued both from a legal and political perspective."
