Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's Foreign Ministry has submitted a letter of protest to the Swiss embassy in Tehran, the protector of Washington’s interests, as the US rushed to accuse Iran of being behind the assault, without providing any evidence.
In a statement on Wednesday, Foreign Ministry said the letter contained Tehran’s protest against the US accusation, denying Iran's involvement in drone attacks on Saudi Arabia's oil sites, Iran Press reported.
The letter warned the US against any military action, emphasizing that Tehran's retaliation to any military attack will not be "limited to its source".
The attack to several Saudi energy facilities on Saturday knocked out more than half of crude output from the world's top exporter and cut output by 5.7 million barrels per day.
Yemen's Houthis, who have been locked in a war with a Saudi-UAE-led coalition since 2015, claimed responsibility for the attacks, warning Saudi Arabia that their target list "will keep on expanding".
But US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo swiftly accused Iran of being behind the assault, without providing any evidence to back up his claim. 101/211
