Uzbekistan (IP) - The Iranian President told his Chinese counterpart that Iran would never ever give up on the US bullying.

Iran PressAsia: Iran's President arrived in Uzbekistan on the invitation of his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, to take part in the 22nd Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

On the sidelines of the summit, Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping met with each other, talking about the bilateral ties and shore-up of economic cooperation. 

Raisi appreciated China's constructive stance on facilitating Iran's membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and welcomed China's role in Iran's membership in the BRICS organization.

BRICS is the acronym coined to associate five major emerging economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The BRICS members are known for their significant influence on world affairs. 

Referring to the US and European side's failure to fulfill their commitments to lift the sanctions on Iran under the JCPOA, Raisi emphasized: The Islamic Republic of Iran will never give up to American bullying."

He considered the comprehensive cooperation agreement between Iran and China as a sign of the country's will to develop ties, saying the capacities in oil and energy, transit, agriculture, trade, and investment were a platform for deepening economic relations between the two countries.

Xi Jinping, for his part, said the relations between Iran and China were strategic and would continue to develop regardless of any international developments.

Xi highlighted the important role of Iran in regional and international affairs and said: "China supports the membership of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the BRICS organization."

There in the meeting, Xi Jinping officially invited President Raisi to visit China.
