Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Acting Foreign Minister said the mutual trust built between Iran and the neighboring and regional countries in the late Raisi's administration must be pursued for the region to reach stability.

Iran Press/Iran news: Ali Bagheri-Kani told reporters on Wednesday that the neighbor-centered policy of Raisi's administration has no opposition inside and outside the country but the enemies that may not bear it.

He referred to the JCPOA negotiations and said that the late Raisi's administration sought from the very beginning of its work to both pursue the negotiations and neutralize the US sanctions.

Iran's international nuclear agreement or the so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was signed between the country and P5+1 countries (Russia, China, UK, Germany, France, and the US) in 2015, to lift the West's sanctions on Iran, but the US scrapped it on May 18, 2018, re-imposing more sanctions on Iran.

According to the agreement Iran was supposed to curb some of its legal nuclear activities and the other side was supposed to lift sanctions on the Iranian nation. The Western parties did not fulfill their commitments to the deal contrary to Iran which began to carry out the obligations and fulfilled them.

Bagheri-Kani said that although the Western parties' illusions caused some foreign-backed riots in Iran to topple the Islamic Republic, the Iranian party pursued the negotiations so that the new administration could more powerfully follow the path to ensure the Iranian national interest. 204
