Iran Press/ Middle East: Bahram Einollahi, Iran's Health, Treatment, and Medical Education minister who traveled to Syria, visited the country's pharmaceutical facility on the outskirts of Damascus, adding: "Iran is ready to rebuild Syrian pharmaceutical factories that were damaged in the war against the terrorism."
There are currently 70 pharmaceutical companies operating in Syria, but most of them are in Aleppo province and have been destroyed by terrorist groups.
Syria cannot produce hormonal and anti-cancer drugs due to severe economic sanctions and imports most of these drugs from Iran.
The Iranian Minister of Health also met with Health Minister Hassan al-Ghabbash met Sunday. The discussions during the meeting touched upon boosting cooperation between Syria and Iran in health sector development, providing quality services to patients, and exchanging expertise between the doctors.
Iranian minister met with Prime Minister Eng. On Monday, Hussein Arnous discussed the ways of enhancing cooperation between Syria and Iran in pharmaceutical industries, equipment, medical supplies, scientific research, medical tourism, and the exchange of students and professors.

The meeting also included a view of the services offered by the Health Ministry and efforts exerted by the workers amid the challenges imposed by the terrorist war on Syria, the economic blockade, and the spread of the coronavirus.
Syria and Iran signed on Monday the executive program of the joint memo of understanding signed in Tehran in November 2021 to enhance cooperation in higher education and scientific research.
The memo provides for the cooperation of the two parties in exchanging scholarships and study places for the undergraduate and postgraduate levels (Masters and Ph.D.) and organizing joint visits for university students to participate in scientific, cultural, sports, and artistic activities.
The two sides will also exchange researchers and professors in medical education to conduct scientific and medical research for higher education institutions and banks, scientific periodicals, information, experiences, and training in various advanced medical and pharmaceutical specialties.
