Iran Press/Iran news: Iraq's Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Saad Abdul Wahab Jawad Qandil made the remarks during a meeting with Tehran's Governor-General Anoushirvan Mohseni-Bandpei on Sunday, saying, "Iran and Iraq could use the high potentials of both countries and can help each other in booming industrial and production units."
"We predict that Iraqi pilgrims, traveling to Iran would reach 4 million and Iranian pilgrims traveling to Iraq would reach 5 million annually," Qandil stressed, adding, "this amount of bilateral travel between two countries is unprecedented," Iran Press reported.
Iraqi diplomat referred to the issue of the Arbaeen ceremony, saying that the Iraqi Embassy in Tehran will make use of all facilities to successfully hold the religious ceremony.
Each year, Shiite Muslims from Iran and other regional countries attend the Arbaeen ceremonies held in the Iraqi city of Karbala, where the shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) is located.
