Iran Press/ Iran News: The First Vice President of the Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran, Mahdi Mohammadnabi, in response to the campaign to exclude Iran's national team from the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, said in a television interview on Thursday night: "It is mentioned in the FIFA statutes, confederations, and federations that it is not legitimate to get involved in such issues. Short-sighted and opportunistic people raise this type of discussion."
Mohammad Nabi added: "Considering the fact that the national team got good results in the Austrian camp, I think that Iran's fellow teams, such as England and America, lacked technical skills and adhered to other issues."
The first vice president of the Football Federation stated that according to the statutes, it is not allowed to enter into these issues, and FIFA rejected it and emphasized: "We do not pay attention to these talks, the efforts of these people are unwise and will lead nowhere basically, sport is the field of clean activities, the World Cup is a big international event where different nations are present."
