Iran Press/ Europe: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has traveled to Geneva, Switzerland to attend the meeting of the Human Rights Council and the annual meeting of the Conference on Disarmament.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran also met and talked with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Armenia, Belgium, and the Secretary General of the United Nations.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk on the sidelines of the 52nd UN Human Rights Council meeting at the European headquarters of this international organization in Geneva on Monday evening. He exchanged views on topics of concern in the field of human rights issues.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran explained the fundamental positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the issue of human rights and responded to some points and considerations of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in this regard.
Amir-Abdollahian also pointed out some aspects of the violation of the human rights of the Iranian nation by the United States through the imposition of cruel and inhumane sanctions.
