Iran Press/Iran news: Nationalization of the Iranian oil industry also happened as a result of popular support and comprehensive consensus of political elites, Bahram Ghasemi said on the occasion of Nationalization of the Iranian oil industry Day.
He noted that Iranians have never dealt their independence, pride and national dignity with hypocrisy. The great Iranian nations have always been steadfast and pioneer in fighting colonialism and arrogance, IRNA reported.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman underlined that strong leaders opposing foreigners’ aggression are all around the country.
Ghasemi added that independence and dignity have had a special position in Iranians’ culture, behavior and in their political and social life.
He went on to say that the freedom-seeking movement of Iranians and the national resistance against arrogance have experienced a long and a difficult path for passing through Qajar dynasty to the Islamic Revolution.
Although, some of the ambitions of the movement have been dejected by 1953 Iranian coup d'état and by direct intervention of the US and those powers which lost their interests after Nationalization of the Iranian oil industry, but the liberation ambitions, achievement of all-out independence and the prevention of plundering national assets by foreigners and multinational corporations ultimately resulted in the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Ghasemi said.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman also commemorated Mohammad Mosaddegh, former prime minister of Iran, his followers and all who have been martyred for independence, freedom and dignity of Iran. 104
