Iran Press/ Iran News: In reaction to the mass execution of people in Saudi Arabia, Saeed Khatibzadeh said on Sunday that the Saudi government could not abuse common terms to cover up political and judicial turmoil and the crackdown on people.
Amid the hustles and bustles of the Western media and other international bodies against the Russian operation in Ukraine, Saudi Arabia beheaded 81 Muslims, and no one reacted to the executions.
Khatibzadeh said the move contradicts the basic principles of human rights and international law, violated humanitarian principles and accepted legal procedures, and was carried out without observing fair judicial proceedings.
Khatibzadeh also referred to double standards adopted by the Western governments and their instrumental use of the concept of human rights and condemned the silence and inaction of the self-proclaimed advocates of human rights in the face of such actions, describing it as a sign of hypocrisy on the part of these governments in their exploiting the issue of human rights for political purposes and satisfy their political greed against independent countries.
Every year, Saudi Arabia sentences many dissidents to severe punishments and death under the pretext of fighting terrorism and those who violate freedom of expression. 219
