Iran Press/ Iran news: Iran's Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian said on Sunday that Tehran and Eurasia have successfully inked the provisional agreement on free trade after years of talks and they are doing their best to finalize the agreement after three years of pilot implementation. Ardakanian considered the economic convergence with the neighbouring countries as one of the top priorities of Iran's foreign policy, saying that the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) serves as the good example of regional cooperation as well as an example of convergence policy in the last decade.

The top official went on to reiterate that Iran as one of the important Middle Eastern countries which also borders Central Asia and the Caucasus can act as a key link with these regions, and this would promote trade and will be in the interests of everyone.
Ardakanian's remarks came as he was speaking at a trade conference with Eurasia Economic Union.
In the first half of the current year, Iran's exports to the Caucasus countries have reached 490 million US dollars which signifies a 52 percent growth and imports from the same countries showing a 3 percent decrease from 792 to 768 million US dollars. 207/211
