Iran discusses regional security only with countries in region: Diplomat

Kuwait (IP) - Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister said the Islamic Republic of Iran will not discuss any issue other than how to implement the JCPOA with the P5+1 and is only willing to discuss the security of the Persian Gulf region with the countries of the region without any foreign interference.

Iran PressMiddle East: Abbas Araghchi, who headed a delegation to Kuwait on Tuesday, met with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in Kuwait city.

During the meeting, Araghchi praised Kuwait's efforts to establish understanding and reconciliation between the Persian Gulf countries and called the dialogue and non-interference of countries outside the region as two important principles for collective security in the region.

He stressed the need for continued consultations between Iran and Kuwait on bilateral issues and regional issues and informed the Kuwaiti side of Iran's determination to strengthen relations with Kuwait and other countries in the region. 

Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah also said that negotiations between the countries of the region are the only way to resolve the differences.

He also stressed Kuwait's will and interest in developing relations between the two countries in various fields.
