Iran Press/ Asia: The International Conference of ‘Iran-Pakistan-China Trilateral Cooperation; Opportunities and Ways Ahead’ was held virtually and hosted by the Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS) in Islamabad.
The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Mohammad-Ali Hosseini, at the conference, considered the relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran with China as relations based on mutual respect and free from interventionist powers and added: In order to develop these relations, high-ranking Iranian and Chinese officials decided to plan the cornerstone for the development of their long-term relations in a 25-year horizon.
Iran's ambassador to Pakistan considered developed economic and trade relations, developed transit interactions, the negative impact of sanctions on bilateral relations, expanded cooperation between the two countries in the wake of the outbreak of coronavirus, using the capacities of Chabahar and Gwadar ports, Tehran-Islamabad cooperation in China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) economic plan, and regional cooperation, as the most important priorities in Iran-Pakistan relations.
Experts present at the Iran-China-Pakistan international webinar, while emphasizing the identification of ways to strengthen cooperation between the three countries, pointed to the role of some powers in negative propaganda against the One Belt and One Road Plan and the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Plan between Pakistan and China.
They also warned that some rival powers were seeking to undermine bilateral relations and tripartite cooperation between Iran, China, and Pakistan.
