Iran, Bolivia to develop bilateral cooperation

During a meeting between the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in La Paz, Morteza Tafreshi, and Luis Arce, President-elect of Bolivia, the two sides discussed ways to develop bilateral cooperation.

Iran PressAmerica: The President-elect of Bolivia, Luis Arce, praised the congratulatory message of the President and Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the occasion of his victory in the elections and said that after the start of the new government, he will reactivate the bilateral relations and cooperation that were stagnant during the period of the Bolivian interim government.

Referring to the friendship between the two nations of Iran and Bolivia, Arce expressed hope that the Islamic Republic of Iran would continue to cooperate and support the Bolivian government in the technical, scientific, and industrial fields.

Luis Arce, the left-wing candidate of the Movement for Socialism party, won the Bolivian presidential election on October 18, 2020, with more than 55% of the vote and will take power next week.

Following Arce's victory, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif congratulated his victory in separate messages.
