Head of Iran's High Council of Human Rights Mohammad Javad Larijiani said on Sunday that the Islamic Republic of Iran fully supports restoration of peace, and development, in Afghanistan.

Larijani made the remark in a meeting with an Afghan delegation in Tehran on Sunday. 

Larijani said:  "Tehran believes that restoration of peace in Afghanistan, and development of the country, will pave the way for expansion of cooperation with neighboring countries more than before".

He added:  "There exists suitable grounds for expansion of cooperation on judicial matters, as well as on  international issues and human rights between Iran and Afghanistan".

The head of Afghan delegation in charge of civil society, women affairs and human rights described the meeting with Larijani as very successful and positive. She said:  "The ground is well prepared for the expansion of international cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan.  Exchange of views and cooperation between the two sides' officials help improve the status of human rights and amendment of existing rules and regulations".
