Iran Press/ Iran News: The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, held a phone conversation with his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Attaf on Thursday.
The two officials mulled over mutual ties and regional developments especially the situation in Gaza.
Amir-Abdollahian and Attaf slammed the continuation of the Zionist regime's crimes and atrocities against the people of Gaza and Rafah, noting the dire humanitarian situation in the region.
The two foreign ministers called on the international community to take immediate and effective action and halt the slaughter of civilians, particularly women and children, and to provide immediate relief to the Palestinians, especially in northern Gaza and Rafah.
The top diplomats also underlined the need to prevent the Zionist army from invading Rafah with the aim of forced displacement of Gazan residents.
The Iranian foreign minister stressed the necessity for collective measures by Islamic countries to assist the oppressed nation of Palestine.
Ahmed Attaf, for his part, highlighted the importance of the participation of the president of the Islamic Republic in the upcoming summit of the heads of the assembly of gas exporting countries in Algeria.
The Algerian foreign minister also noted his country's eagerness to promote relations with Iran. 219
