Niamey (IP) - The Director-General of International Peace and Security at Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called any interaction with the Zionist regime a betrayal of Muslims and a serious blow to the unity of the Islamic Ummah.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at the 47th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Saturday with the slogan "United against Terrorism for Peace and Development" in Niamey, the capital city of Niger, the Director-General of International Peace and Security at Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Reza Najafi expressed concern over the decision of some Islamic countries to normalize and establish relations with the Israeli regime.

He said: "Any interaction with the illegal Zionist regime, which is the root of killing, torture, and displacement of thousands of Palestinians, violates the basic principles of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation."

Najafi stressed the need to support the Palestinian people against the crimes of the Zionist regime, describing it as the most fundamental issue of the Islamic world.

The director-general of International Peace and Security at Iran's foreign ministry also condemned the US unilateralism in economic terrorism against developing countries, stating: "These actions could lead to adverse consequences for international peace and security and development worldwide."

Najafi further called on the Islamic countries to hold dialogue, describing it as the only constructive way to resolve disputes, stressing: “The Islamic Republic of Iran, as one of the founders of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, has put friendly and fraternal relations between Islamic countries at the forefront of its foreign policy, and has been the initiator and defender of peace and security in the Persian Gulf, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, and other regional issues.”
