Tehran (IP): Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour, the head of the Islamic Culture and Communication Organization (ICCO), has traveled to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to participate in an international conference focused on mysticism within Islamic civilization. The conference will explore the influence of the school of Ibn Arabi across the Balkans, Iran, and Turkey.

Iran PressIran news: Accompanying Imanipour are several notable figures, including Dr. Fatemeh Tabatabai, head of the Scientific Association of Islamic Mysticism in Iran, Dr. Mahmoud Sheikh, a professor of theology at Tehran University, and Hossein Divsalar, secretary of the Supreme Council of the Organization of Islamic Culture and Communication.

The event, set to take place on Monday, June 10, will feature speeches from thinkers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Macedonia, and Iran, highlighting the diverse perspectives and contributions to the field of Islamic mysticism.

During his visit, Imanipour's agenda is packed with significant cultural engagements. He will meet with the head of the Islamic Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina and participate in the resumption of cultural activities in Mostar city. This includes the inauguration of exhibitions on Iranian gilding and calligraphy, as well as Persian language and literature in the Balkans and globally.

Additional planned activities include the opening of Dar Al-Quran at the Persian-Bosnian college, discussions with the scientific and cultural elites of Bosnia Herzegovina, and meetings with the Minister of Culture of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the Mayor of Mostar. These engagements underscore the deep cultural ties and shared educational interests between Iran and Bosnia Herzegovina, fostering greater understanding and collaboration in the region.
