Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah said during a televised address on Monday that holding general election in Lebanon was a big national accomplishment for this country.

“I extend my appreciation and gratitude to all who delivered on their duties,” said Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, on Monday.

“Holding election is a big national achievement especially after 9 years and reinstating the parliament; it is an achievement for our shared promise, President Michel Aoun, Lebaneese government, and the whole nation who contributed to the success of this election,” reiterated the resistance figure.

His remarks at a televised address came after early results recounted Hezbollah’s landslide victory in the election.

The general election for Lebanon’s 128-member parliament, Lebanon's first parliamentary elections in nine years, was held on Sunday, with over 500 candidates vying for seats. Turnout was 49.2 percent, according to officials.
