Iran Press/ Iran news: State of emergency declared in Iran's some provinces and cities such as Noor Abad, West of Lorestan province, amid flooding fears.
Several days of heavy rain has resulted in unprecedented flash floods in some parts of Iran that began on March 19, with water levels rising dangerously in rivers in central and western Mazandaran, Fars, Lorestan, Kermanshah, and Khuzestan Provinces, Iran Press reported.
Preemptive measures had been taken for the proper management of the quantity of water in dam reservoirs, the prevention of any casualties, and the minimization of damage.
Iran's Meteorological Organization predicted that the situation would return to normal by the weekend as rainfall potentially subsides in nearby provinces.
The Iranian government has mobilized to help flood victims and minimize further loss of life or damage.
In a cabinet session chaired by President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday field reports and operations undertaken in flood-stricken areas were presented to the cabinet.
The death toll from the recent flash floods across the country currently stands at 45, according to Iran's Forensic Medicine Organization. 101/202
