Tehran (IP) - The Head of Iran's Department of Environment said that a cheetah with four cubs was seen in the Turan region last week.

Iran PressIran news: Earlier in May, the Head of Iran's Department of Environment Ali Salajegheh announced the observation of a male cheetah in Isfahan, central Iran, and said that enjoys a number of cheetahs.

On the sidelines of the cabinet session on Wednesday, June 14, Salajegheh told reporters about environmental diplomacy, saying that the issue in line with the political and economic goals of the government has been successful.

He also told IranPress about Shadegan Ponds in Khuzestan Province, Southwestern Iran, to boost tourism: "Good things have been done on the order of President, and we will use the capacities of this region." 

The Shadegan International Wetland is among of Ramsar Convention wetlands. It covers about 400,000 hectares in Khuzestan Province. The ponds and surrounding marshes are fed by the Karun River and are connected to the Persian Gulf.
