Iran's representative in UN:

Iran Press/America: Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran's representative to the United Nations added: "The Israeli regime violated our national security and sovereignty with the recent terrorist act (assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran), we have the right to defend ourselves and this issue has nothing to do with stopping the war in Gaza.

Iravani said: However, we hope that our response will be in time and in a way that does not harm the possible ceasefire.

Regarding the exchange of messages between Iran and the USA, Iran's representative to the UN also said there have always been channels for transmitting messages and both sides have preferred to keep the details silent.204
