Iran Press/ Iran news: In a message on his Twitter account on Friday, May 22, 2020, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi wrote: "Stunning is Europe's captivity to the Zionist lobby. Europe has historically failed to stop the Zionist regime's violation of Intl law (i.e. Palestinians' suppression, lands' annexation) committed in the name of Israel security. Why afraid of 'referendum' in Palestine as a lasting solution?"
Next month, the Zionist regime intends to annex parts of the West Bank that were occupied during the 1967 war.
The European Union has called the move a serious violation of international law and warned of its consequences.

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell has said 27 EU member states will not recognize Israeli sovereignty over the territory.
The United Nations also says there is a danger of diluting any ray of hope for peace between the Palestinians and Israel would be lost.
