Iran Press/Iran news: Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said the Iranian national who had been detained in Germany under the pretext of violating America's unilateral and illegal sanctions has been released from prison and returned home.
In an official statement on Monday, Mousavi said: "Following intense behind-the-scenes diplomatic efforts, and also with the cooperation of Iran's Judiciary and the IRGC Intelligence Organization, Ahmad Khalili, an Iranian citizen detained in Germany on the pretext of violating US sanctions was freed on Sunday night.
He added: "Khalili was on the verge of being extradited to the United States, but has now returned to Iran accompanied by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif."
