Iran Press/West Asia: Iran has reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing legal and judicial action regarding the US's assassination of top anti-terror commander General Qassem Soleimani.

Al-Sadegh, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, Akbari, the former ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Syria, Tahan Nazif, the spokesman for the Guardian Council, a lawyer and university lecturer, guests from other countries including Lebanon, Bahrain, Yemen, and... Students, professors and lecturers from seminaries and universities, elders and tribal sheikhs were present and exchanged views on legal and political issues leading to justice regarding the US crime at Baghdad airport in martyring the great commanders of the Resistance Front.

General Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), and their companions were assassinated in a US drone strike authorized by then-US President Donald Trump near the Iraqi capital Baghdad’s International Airport on January 3, 2020.

UN Special Rapporteur Agnès Callamard stated that the airstrike likely violated international law, including human rights law, and deemed the killing of individuals alongside Soleimani as "absolutely unlawful."
